The 3 Day Startup (3DS) team is proud to announce that it has received a $150,000 grant from the U.S. Embassy Vienna to lead the Austria to Austin Student Startup Exchange summer initiative. These funds will support a two week exchange program where eighteen standout Austrian university students will start early stage companies and become innovation bridges between the U.S. and Austria. This program is a part of a larger agenda with the U.S. Department of State to increase peace, stability, and diplomacy between various nations through educational and cultural exchanges.
This is the latest of several 3DS engagements with the U.S. Department of State; both organizations have partnered previously for programs in Qatar , Portugal, Malawi, and Morocco.
“Governments across the world are realizing the power of entrepreneurship for advancing leaders, economies, and societies,” said 3DS CEO Cam Houser. “We’re thrilled to build the vision of a connected future between young Austrian and American entrepreneurial leaders. And this is just the beginning!”
For this initiative, the U.S. Department of State aims to build leadership potential and entrepreneurial capabilities in the students while supporting crosscultural relations between Vienna and Austin. In two short weeks, they will build ventures, connect with entrepreneurs at the annual conference for the 3DS tribe ( 3DS Global Roundup ), attend site visits to learn about the Austin startup ecosystem, and experience various cultural activities from Austin’s Fourth of July celebration to enjoying the best BBQ in the world. All expenses for the students will be covered.
As one of the most innovative cities in America and the fastest growing startup ecosystems, Austin is the perfect environment to build the entrepreneurial potential of Austria’s future leaders. Application Deadline: January 30th.
