According to an announcement on the website of Vector Watch, the software platform and whole team joined Fitbit.
Since they launched their first product in 2015, Romanian Vector Watched surprised the users with a stylish quality watch that had a 30-days battery life. Vector Watch was founded by Andrei Pitis, Dan Tudose si Irina Alexandru and received a 500.000 investment from Gecad Ventures, the investment fund controlled by Romanian investor Radu Georgescu. Last year the company had an additional investment round where Gecad Ventures were joined by Catalyst Romania and other private investors.
Fitbit is an American company headquartered in San Francisco, California, known for its products of the same name, which are activity trackers, wireless-enabled wearable technology devices that measure data such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics involved in fitness.
The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed, but the announcement made it pretty clear that there will not be other Vector Watch products so it seems that the main interest in the transaction was the software and the team that build it.
If you already own a Vector Watch you should know that the smartwatches will maintain functionalities and features, warranty is valid and technical support is still available.
